My best friend bought a 2003 XK8 convertible from a divorcing associate who was intent on preventing his soon-to-be ex-wife from enjoying after they split up. $33,000 cash and drive! I wish I had the opportunity to snag that one. He picked it up when it was only 16 months old, and it only had 13,000 miles on it. It spends a lot of time hidden away in his garage now, and he has only taken it out on weekends and one long trip. It doesn't have any mechanical or electrical problems at all. What a beautiful car! Light metallic blue with white leather and rag top. I have driven it and it rides like a race car in the turns, and like a luxury cruiser on the highway. The only thing I don't like: No back seat or trunk room.

I have a 2003 s model, and love it. Had my first Jag in early 80 and most people here in Mich did not know what it was.

We've had a few Jags in the past & the best model is the Vanden Plas. What a wonderful car! Repairs are steep

I have had a fixation on Jaguars the past four months am now ready to to buy one. I have been looking at a beautiful 2000 xjr sedan on ebay, plus I've looked at some later model xj8's. Looking for comments from owners of these models regarding satisfaction level... Contented? Elated? Disappointed? Any mechanical issues?

I've had Jag sedans for over 25 years and have always loved them (even with the Lucas electrical systems, etc.). They have always had the style others car are missing. Even have a German friend who bought an older model, had it sent back to the factory to be totally rebuilt (a large fortune), but it's lovely!

We brought a '00 XK8 in Sept and have had a good number of days enjoying it with the top down.
For anyone looking for maintenance info on Jags, or many other vehicles for that matter, check the following. Roadfly
For XK8/XKRs go to Roadfly XK8/XKR
Most every question will be answered and they have a very good search feature

We bought a 89 XJ6 about 2 years ago off Ebay. Had to travel to St Louis to get it. It definitely was a fixer upper. We have gotten good use out of it and wouldn't mind having another one some day. Not a bad car.

I just bought a Jaguar VDP 2005! It is the best car I have ever owned. I used to be a Cadillac nut but no more. Thanks to Ford Motor Co the car is now one of the safest on the road. Any others with knee air bags? And the all wheel drive is great in any weather! A true Jag fan here!

I have an 89 XJS (12 cyl) has 20K miles and having the engine rebuilt...previous owner had it sitting for 9 years in a garage...looks great and will be running great in about 6 weeks. Also, reapirs are pretty expensive, found out that most oil changes can be done at PepBoys for about $24, as opposed to the Jag dealer for $119...

I'l look on Ebay to get a good feel for comparison pricing, year, model, mileage etc. There is a dealership in Dallas,Tx that deals in used Jags and has the best prices I've ever seen. His web site is: jagsforless.com and the phone is 800-yes-jags. Good luck.

Should be fun times in the near future.

My wife and I just got our first Jag, an xk8. Anybody have a Jag who wants to share experiences. We just love ours. Will probably use it for all of our road trips to visit the inlaws. Getting about 24 mpg on the highway 19 in town. Really surprised at the mpg for such a heavy car. Rides like a 747, almost seems to drive itself.
