Just remember that the Solstice/Sky were never meant to be high volume sellers. I see a good number of them down around here where I live. I do like them, but, they're a bit too small for my 6-4 280lb frame.

I figured, if, and it's a big if right now, GM keeps the Solstice/Sky, that it'll go to Chevy.
Penske though, since he's keeping the Saturn name alive, may choose to keep the Sky as one of his offerings. I've not heard what his plans for the nameplate are personally.

OH Please let the Solstice go to Chevy. I have NEVER seen a cool looking car come out of Buick. Buick would turn it into a Brick on wheels.

I'm with you, Sneakers55. This car is to pretty to just go away. It needs to go to Buick or Cadillac as an up scale trimmed model to draw a younger demographic. If I was fresh out of college, instead of an old guy like I am, I'd be at the dealer's order desk.

Where is the Solstice/Sky going to go? Will they make it a Chevrolet, or would Buick be the lucky division?
Buick has three vehicles right now (medium, large, and crossover). A two-seater probably would pull a younger clientele into Buick dealers.

They are basically the same car under the skin. Same drive train, I believe I read where the Sky had nicer interior, but that is everyone's own opinion. Each car has small differences to the product name. Both will offer the same turbo charged 260 HP engine. The Sky is a 2007 model, Solstice is 2006. I personally like the Sky a little better, but I can't deal with the Saturn dealer in St Louis. So if I do get one, it will be the Solstice.

It's a sweet looking ride and it's about time GM came out with a car to compete in this class!!!
Anyone know the differences / similarities between the Soltice and the Saturn Skye??

G6coolcar,
Did you by any chance push a 3 instead of a 2 on that price for the Solstice? shouldn't that be $23,800?
I forgot, that is probably Canadian dollars, right? Is it the out the door price, tax and all?

G6coolcar,
How did you get the price that high? I added up every option that pontiac has for that car and it only comes up to $27.000+, including on-star. Did the dealer add on a lot of extras? I know the GXP will be higher, but I don't think it will even be that much....

They are pretty good on gas, and the car is awesome! Wait for the GXP, 260hp. 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds I think :):):)

Had a blue Solstice for two days, I loved it and did it ever turn alot of heads. I couldn't keep it because my daughter plays rep softball and it just wasn't practical. I got a Pontiac G6 GT coupe which I like just as much. The solstice really had alot of jump for a 4cyl 177hp engine. In Ontario where we have front plates I suggest leaving it off as it takes away from the looks of the grill.

I saw a new white Solstice today, sitting in front of a Dodge dealership, with the top down, and looking great. Don't know what is going on, it had a dodge dealers sticker on it. They are doing some good advertising for Pontiac. They are going to sell a bunch of those things.

In 2007 Pontiac is coming out with a GXP Solstice, 260 HP Turbo 4 cyl. It will have about 11.25 Lbs per HP. That little devil should really go....

Two monthes ago, there was one at the nearby Pontiac dealer, in the showroom. It was locked, and the salesman told me that the factory rep unloaded it off of the truck, drove it in the showroom, locked the doors, and took the keys when he left. They didn't want anyone to sit in it or drive it. It was only there to look at. I will probably order one eventually, for a fun car. I recently sold my 79 corvette that I bought 6 years ago. That was my fun car. It had only 11,236 documented, miles on it when I bought it. It had 14,043 when I sold it. The interior looked like new, and everything worked... I had all of the original papers, window sticker, new build sheet, finance papers from the original owner. All of the state inspection papers, with mileage printed on them. I sold it for more than I paid for it...

I like the looks but i wish they would have cramed the 5.7 liter in there. If not in all of them at least make it an option. Who cares about gas milage. If that car had a big V8 it would seem way more attractive to me. It would be a rocket with the V8.

I saw a Solstice at the dealer two days ago. Absolutely beautiful! They had a silver one and a black one. They said all 13 cars they have ordered are already sold. Window sticker was around $24,000 with options. I believe most will come optioned out this way, as even A/C is an option.

Car & Driver did a comparison this month between the Mazda MX-5 (Miata) and the Solstice. They actually liked the Solstice better. The EPA mileage is 20 City, 28 Highway. The engine is a 177Hp 2.4liter. Performance is pretty good due to the light weight. I like the looks also, thinking about looking after I pay off my gas-guzzling truck this year.

Will be checking it out tonight... boyfriend's dad works for GM and gets to drive one for a few days. Apparently rides pretty nice, but not sure how it is on gas. I'll ask him.
