Any one had any problems with their 6.0 diesel? 40,000 miles on mine with no trouble.

"You might want to ask your dealer about this Recall

Freaked out when I saw the video."

That's a 6.4, not a 6.0. That truck was in regen mode to clean the DPF. Stupid idea to begin with but whatever.
The emissions stuff (cats, EGRs, DPFs) just cause trouble. Get rid of em, then head stud the 6.0, and you're set.

Exactly 2 months later, FORD - found on road dead - yet again!!!! Had to have it towed back to one of the dealerships.

My husband went to lunch with coworkers, and the truck wouldn't start when they returned to the vehicle. The dealership will let me know what's up in a day or two.

Not a month went by (August 23) and had to have the 2006 F-250 4x4 towed again!

My husband got partway to work this time; and the engine would rev up, and then he would have the pedal to the floor and the truck would crawl. Now it's spewing out white and blue smoke.

Towed it back to the dealership. They're telling me if it's the EGR cooler or something, it's $5000 to fix! The diesel diagnostic is running me $280.

I recommend the Motorcraft VC-8 fuel additive in diesels. It will keep your carbon deposites down and your trucks MPG up. Your engine will run & idle smoother too...

Had to have the 2006 F-250 4x4 diesel towed out of the driveway yet again! Bad fuel injector control module this time. Even Consumer Reports lists lots of problems with the 2006 diesel.

Had the darn F-250 diesel crew cab 4x4 towed from my driveway to the Ford dealership. Won't start, bad EGR valve. Had is replaced, all at no charge since it's still under the 100,000 mile warranty.

However, have an electrical problem where it won't start occasionally. Have to get under the hood and jiggle wires. Have to take it back to Ford and get it fixed.

My stepson says he wants to take over the payments so I can get something else. He knows the problems with it but wants to anyway.

I no longer have my Ford truck with 6.0 diesel, as I sold it.
But mine was a great truck, no issues at all.

Multiple fuel injector problems. 2 one day, had to drive 40 miles next day when the 3rd one went bust.

Have 82,000 miles on 2006 F-250. Can't wait to dump this monster as soon as it gets closer to the 100,000 mile warranty being up. If you purchase a warranty -- get the Ford warranty only! The dealership I went to originally sold me their dealership warranty and it has been a nightmare!

We have a 1997 - 7.3 stroke with over 300,000 miles and wouldn't trade if for a 6.0.

Still driving my 6.0 Powerstroke and no problems. It's how you take care of your vehicle. And I have never used 15W-40 oil!

7.3>6.0 in the fact that it has less problems.
6.0>7.3 in the fact it has more power and is more efficient. i have a 7.3 and don't wanna leave it
if you just do an EGR delete and headstud it, you should be good

Besides, headgaskets, egr valves, egr coolers, oil coolers, turbo and injector failures and fuel tank liners comming apart they are great trucks. Take it from someone who has to work on these turds everyday, if you own one and the 100k warranty is up, dump it. Of course alot of the problems are caused by people failing to maintain the truck and then over loading the truck.
